At The Malthouse we use a combination of analog & digital equipment to produce records. We can happily record a live band to our Otari 16 track 1” tape machine or digitally multi tracked with Pro Tools 12 or Logic Pro X. We often use a hybrid method of analog and digital to obtain the best sound and workflow that each method offers. Our acoustically treated live room is perfect for live bands, big drum sounds, tight vocals or small orchestral ensembles.
We can of course mix tracks recorded here but are also happy to mix tracks recorded elsewhere using our range of UAD, Waves, Fabfilter & Soundtoys plugins as well as our selection of high end outboard compressors & FX. Please get in touch for competitive rates.
If you have recorded and mixed your track in another studio or at home we can master them here and we have very competitive rates, but we prefer to outsource records that have been recorded and mixed here to some mastering engineers that we trust. These studios and engineers have worked solely as mastering engineers for years and fully understand the process. It also has the benefit of another pair of ears to listen over tracks and help finalise the project. This helps ensure the final record is the best it can be and ready to take to the pressing plant and to radio.
